How do I allow remote MySQL connections?

In order to allow remote hosts to connect to your MySQL databases, you need to specifically allow remote connections from the host you're trying to connect from. Login to cPanel at http://yourdomain.com/cpanel Click on the 'Remote MySQL' icon In the 'Host' field, input the IP you'll be connecting from remotely Once added, you'll now see the IP in the 'Access Hosts' field For the MySQL hostname, you have a few options. First is to use the IP address your site is hosted on. This can be found by logging into cPanel. Secondly, you can use your domain name that you have hosted with us. Lastly, using the servers hostname would also work.
